Product Overview

The Universal Lid is designed to protect the printhead of an inkjet cartridge after refilling, during storage, or while being transported.

It combines a flexible transparent adhesive sheet with a resilient silicone pad that covers the ink outlet openings. When the sheet is tensioned and secured to both sides of the cartridge, the silicone pad remains compressed against the printhead, helping create an airtight closure and retain ink moisture.

Its operating principle is documented in U.S. Patent No. 6,588,875 B1. The flexible design allows it to accommodate a wide variety of black and color ink cartridge sizes and shapes.

How It Works

The flexible silicone pad is pressed directly against the cartridge printhead. The transparent adhesive sheet is then tensioned and attached to both sides of the cartridge.

This continuous pressure helps keep the ink outlet openings securely covered, while the dedicated removal tab allows the cover to be removed easily and cleanly when the cartridge is ready for use.

Application Instructions

1. Remove the protective release liner from the adhesive side.
2. Place the cover on a flat surface with the silicone pad facing upward.
3. Press the cartridge printhead directly against the silicone pad.
4. Maintain pressure while tensioning and attaching the adhesive sheet to both sides of the cartridge.
5. Confirm that the cover is secure and fully covers the ink outlet openings.
6. Before using the cartridge, hold the dedicated removal tab and pull the cover off completely.
